Relational Life - Week #6 By Timothy Moore
We want you to be able to say, because I was part of the CTK Hope Church family, “I learned to be in the Word consistently and devotionally. I learned to pray effectively. I became attuned to the leadership of the Holy Spirit in my life. I got on mission with spiritual friends and we lived out our faith through loving people into a relationship with Jesus.
Impact Groups are small gatherings of spiritual friends who support one another’s growth Christ and go together, to make faith visible and valuable by serving others in love.
We don’t need to be a church with Impact Groups, We need to be a church OF Impact Groups.
Things that Kill Impact Groups
- Cross Talk – This is advice-giving or criticism from one person to another. We are not trying to “fix” one another.
- Gossip – Talking about other people’s negative behavior or private life.
- Political Arguments
- Divisive Dogma – being argumentative about theological non-essentials.
- ???
- Conflicts of Interest - Using the group to sell something, ask people to join something, or just to give money to you or your cause.
- Overloading with Good Ideas.
- Anything else that diverts us from the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
