Relational Life... Week #1 By Timothy Moore & Julia Berger

Acts 2:42-47 2 Timothy 2:2

Relational Life and Why We Need It: A Biblical Perspective

Some say, “I really prefer a large church because…” Others say, “I really prefer a smaller church because…”

Large Church: “I love the worship music.” Small Church: “I like a sing-along that is not a performance.”

Large Church: “I love the great ministries for children and students.” Small Church: “I love the kids being in the church gatherings with everyone else.”

Large Church: “I want to be anonymous while I seek God.” Small Church: “I don’t want to be anonymous while I seek God.”

SO… Is large church the way to go or is small church the way to go? Yes

What were they doing that we need to be doing?

  1. Devotion to the Apostles' Teaching (Biblical Instruction) Acts 2:42: "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching..."
  2. Fellowship (Community and Relationships) Acts 2:42: "...and to fellowship..."
  3. Breaking of Bread (Worship and Sacrament) Acts 2:42: "...to the breaking of bread..."
  4. Prayer (Dependence on God) Acts 2:42: "...and to prayer."

His power is manifested

  • Acts 2:43: "Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles."

His provision is unleashed

  • Acts 2:44-45: "All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need."\

His people increase

  • Acts 2:47: "They were praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

We need F.A.T. people who are fit.
