Pathway To Joy - Part 7: Beyond The Dash By Pastor Bruce Shellhamer

Philippians 2:17-30 Hebrews 13:15 Romans 12:1 Philippians 2:2 Philippians 2:3-4 Philippians 2:20

Joy is always the outward manifestation of the inward experience of God’s unchanging, gracious love” Lloyd Ogilvie

Questions for Reflection: What does faith in Christ, ‘cost’ you? What have we denied ourselves this past week because of what we believe about God? What would it look like to live ‘sacrificially’? What evidence of sacrificial living would someone observe in you?

"__Exegesis__” – is "what is the Bible saying to us"

“__Eisegesis__” – is reading into Bible passage our own ideas or assumptions; twisting it to say something it doesn’t.

Timothy understands the practical meaning of the unity of spirit and purpose Paul pleads for

Timothy is an example of seeking the interests of Jesus, which naturally then leads you to seeking the best interest of others

Timothy’s united with Paul in his concern for the human needs of the people in Philippi

CTK Hope Vision Statement: “To be living proof of a loving God to a watching world through our devotional, relational and missional lives.”

For that dash represents all the time that they spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.

The journey of grief can seem bleak and lonely: Look in front of you – there are others encouraging and guiding you Look beside you – there are others on the same journey Look behind you – there are others encouraged by you We are not alone on this journey” (The Grief Toolbox)

What legacy are you creating today, that will remain after your ‘dash’ is completed?
