Pathway To Joy - Part 6: Hold Firmly to the Word of Life By Pastor Bruce Shellhamer
Philippians 2:12–16 Philippians 1:27 Ephesians 2:8–9 2 Corinthians 5:21 Romans 13:11 Proverbs 9:10 Matthew 5:14–16 John 10:10 John 14:6 Hebrews 13:17
Justification; Salvation; Glorification
“__Justification__ is an act of God where He declares a sinner to be righteous because of that sinner’s faith in Christ.”
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Glorification is in the future when all believers will have glorified bodies as Christ establishes the new heaven and new earth
Paul provides the key to great leadership with three words: “My dear friends”. Before Paul asks them to obey, he loves them
As a leader– some questions to reflect on: (From John Ogilvie)
- Do you love the people you lead?
- Do they know it? How?
- What tangible expressions of caring for them as a person do you give?
- Do they know you have their good in mind?
- Do they have a part in creating the plan you are asking them to follow?
- Have you helped them set realizable and measurable goals? Do you support them in those goals while keeping them accountable to them?
- Do you stand with them in costly involvement? Are you willing to do what you’re asking them to?
- Are you vulnerable enough to admit your own failures so an atmosphere of grace is evident?
Do we pray for the people who are responsible for leadership over us?
What would happen if we were willing to lead, to follow, to listen, to share with one another if as if we were submitting to Christ?
