Hope Unleashed By... Week #4 By Timothy Moore

Romans 8:9 1 Corinthians 10:11-12 Zaphaniah 3:2 Zaphaniah 3:6 Zaphaniah 3:17

A devotional life is an intentional time, each day, to turn our hearts to the Lord, open our hearts to His word, and attune our hearts to his Spirit.

S.O.A.P. Scripture Read the chapter and write down a significant 'verse of the day' from it. Observation Pray the prayer “God, why did You write this?” Write down what he reveals. Application Ask “God how would You like me to apply this verse into my life?” Write down what he reveals. Prayer Write out a prayer to God based on what you just learned and ask him to help you apply this truth in your life.

The cause of national corruption was two-fold:

  1. They no longer believed in the promises of God.
  2. They no longer entered into the presence of God.
  3. I am living among you.
  4. I am your mighty savior.
  5. I take delight in you with gladness.
  6. I calm you with my love.
  7. I rejoice over you with joyful songs.

These five things are the result of us seeking and believing in the promises of God, and intentionally drawing near to Him devotionally.

God’s grace is not opposed to effort, it is opposed to earning.

We must make an effort to know God’s promises.

We must draw near to God in private devotions.

Two Questions:

  1. Have you begun your life with God through entrusting yourself to Christ Jesus?
  2. Do you have an intentional, devotional time with God each day?
