Semicolon Series - Week #4 By Timothy Moore
Isaiah 43:18-19 Isaiah 42:18-20 Isaiah 43:1-2
Living in the Past
God wants us to learn from the past but not live there?
Learning from the past is a rudder to guide you;
Living in the past is an anchor that holds you down.
Need:
Nostalgia is the sneakiest tool of the Devil.
Living in the past always ruins the present by focusing on how the past affects the future.
They wanted a Savior (God who rescues) but they didn’t want a Shepherd (God who leads).
He focuses first on who they are (identity) and then what he will do when they look to Him and listen (relationship).
God doesn’t just say, “I have called you name,” He says, “You are mine!”
