Christmas Advent - Week #3

Christmas Advent - Week 3 By Timothy Moore

Luke 2:10 Nehemiah 8:10 John 15:11 Zephaniah 3:17 Philippians 3:1 Romans 15:13 Acts 2:28

You Lord are always here among us. You are the mighty Savior. You take delight in us with gladness. And with your love, you calm all our fears. You rejoice over us with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17 Teach us the joy of the Lord, and be glorified. Amen

It’s not happiness.

“Biblical joy is never enslaved to circumstance.” ~ Pastor Jim Johnston

The word ‘joy’ means to take delight in something. It is something that makes your heart rejoice. There is the joy…__of__ the Lord. (relationship) There is joy…__in__ the Lord. (location)

“There is the joy of the Lord (delighting in the things that his heart delights in) and…joy in the Lord (delighting in the gifts given by His pure grace and revealed through our devotional relationship with Him).” ~ Melissa Moore

“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17

Joy is found in the presence of God Joy is the fruit of the Holy Spirit

Our mind gets renewed (it is a process) through time with God, in His word, trusting His promises, yielding to the Holy Spirit, in fellowship with others doing the same.

A renewed mind experiences the joy of the Lord, because it takes delight in the things that make God rejoice.
