The Power of a New Identity By Timothy Moore 2 Corinthians 5:21 1 John 4:18 John 15:11 2 Corinthians 5:17 Ephesians 1:3-8
Learning and living out your New Identity in Christ is the most life-changing and liberating experience a human being can have in this world.
1- What God, through Christ, has accomplished for you.
2- Who God, in Christ, says you are.
The gospel is not good advice. It is good news!
“Advice puts a burden on someone, good news takes the burden off." ~Timothy Keller
HERALDS = every message of the Herald brings joy.
ADVISORS = every message of the advisor invokes fear.
As a follower of Jesus Christ you have a new identity?
Apply Ephesians 1:3-8 to someone’s life:
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed __ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because __ is united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved __ and chose __ in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt __ into his own family by bringing __ to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. He is so rich in kindness and grace towards __ that he purchased __ freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave __ sins. He has showered his kindness on __, along with all wisdom and understanding.”
