The House That Jesus Built - Week #12: TRAINS, PLANES, AUTOMOBILES, AND A GOOD PAIR OF SNEAKERS By Pastor Jym Cook
I. THE MONUMENT VS. THE MOVEMENT
The Promise: Acts 1:8 (ESV):
This is a Future Indicative verb. In the Greek mind, this isn't just a command (like "Go be witnesses!"); it is a prophecy and a promise. Jesus is saying that because the Holy Spirit is coming, your very identity is going to change. You won't just do witnessing; you will be witnesses. It is a statement of fact for the "Movement."
II. THE DANGER OF A STATIONARY FAITH
III. THE TOP-DOWN ROADMAP
- THE PLANE MISSION (Global Frontiers)
The Strategy: Acts 16:9-10
- THE AUTOMOBILE MISSION (Regional Saturation) Judea, Samaria
The Strategy: Acts 8:26-40
- THE SNEAKER MISSION (Local Connection)
The Armor: Ephesians 6:15
IV. THE PENTECOST EXPLOSION
V. THE "GREEN LIGHT GO" CHECKLIST
- THE PLANE CHECK: Identify one global missionary or unreached group.
- THE AUTOMOBILE CHECK: Map your commute. Pray: "Who in this zip code needs the Gospel?"
- THE SNEAKER CHECK: Identify the person in your "walking range" and put on your Shoes of Peace.
