Two entrances and Three Choices
Western Gate: The entrance of Pontius Pilate and the soldiers as a show of political force.
Eastern Gate: The entrance of Jesus Christ as the source of peace.
The Western Gate = fear, manipulation, and control
The Eastern Gate = peace and joy
The same people rejoicing on Sunday are shouting ‘crucify him’ on Friday! Why? Unmet expectations.
Religion = a man-made list of what is required or forbidden.
Jesus did not come to save us from human oppressors. He came to:
- free us from the penalty of our personal sins.
- liberate us from man-made religions.
- Give us the opportunity to abdicate the throne of our lives and invite Him to be King.
Sin is servants putting themselves in the place of the King.
Salvation comes through the King putting himself in the place of the servant.
