Mother's Day Message By Julia Berger Genesis 2:18-23 Exodus 1:19-20 Joshua 2:8-12 Judges 5:21 Ruth 1:16 1 Samuel 25:18-19 Esther 4:14
Hebrew word for “Helper” is “Ezer (ay’-zer)” - an ally or rescuer, someone who comes running when the people cry out for help. An ezer drops everything to save those in need. An Ezer is a hero.
When Society says one thing and God says another we have an opportunity to be an ezer.
Rahab – an ezer woman who reminds us that it doesn’t matter what our past holds but rather who we can become through faith in God.
When our past says one thing but God says who we truly are – we have an opportunity to be an ezer
When the odds seem stacked against us but God calls us to lead we have an opportunity to be an ezer.
When we don’t feel like we fit in but God calls us to go we have an opportunity to be an ezer.
When our own family seems like they are against us, or they are against God, he gives us opportunities to be an ezer.
If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
The position we find ourselves in whether at home, at work or in the community could actually be opportunities to be the ezer God is calling us to be
