The armor is: TRUTH, RIGHTEOUSNESS, THE GOSPEL (PEACE), FAITH, SALVATION, GOD’S WORD AND PRAYER.
GOD’S WORD & PRAYER LETS YOU FIGHT FROM VICTORY.
“with the belt of truth buckled around your waist”. Truth is found in God’s written and spoken word. There are NOT multiple truths.
“with the breastplate of righteousness in place”. Living according to God’s righteousness protects our hearts.
Righteousness is defined in God’s word & applied thru prayer.
A foundation of the gospel gives us good footing for the fight.
The gospel of peace is described in the word of God and is acquired thru prayer.
“Above all, take up the shield of faith…” Trusting God completely, extinguishes the enemy’s attacks.
The foundation of your faith is found in God’s Word. The building of your faith is found in prayer.
“Take the helmet of salvation”. Receiving salvation through Jesus sets our minds right.
The description of salvation comes from God’s word and the reception of salvation comes thru prayer.
“And [take up] the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" God’s word (spoken & written) pierces us, protects us and empowers us.
Praying God’s word is a powerful weapon.
“pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers…” Prayer is the primary way that God involves us in the fight.
Our prayers involve us in God’s strategy.
